About Us
Backyard Tropicals is an owner operated business I started in 2002. I feel so fortunate to be able to create ponds and water features for some of the nicest people in the world. It really is incredible when I realize how many customers that through our relationship, I have watched their kids grow up go to college, get married and even have kids. It has always been so simple for me. Number one, listen to the client. Find out what they want to accomplish and what their tastes and vision are. Design an environment to meet that goal. Say what you are going to do, write it down and do what you say. And, of course, build a nicer piece of artwork than the customer ever imagined. So simple and so blessed that people keep letting me build water features for them. Who's luckier than me.

In the early days you put to work anyone who couldn't say no. I paid my son Tyler a lot less back then, but he has been a great resource to this day in our challenging labor environment.
